TOPIC: God at Home in Us

SCRIPTURE: I will give my eyes no sleep, my eyelids no rest, Til I find a home for the LORD, a dwelling for the Mighty One of Jacob. – Psalm 132:4-5

Catholic Daily Devotional 27 January 2022 MESSAGE

Although these words refer to David and his deep desire and determination to build for God a house worthy of the Holy One, they might also apply to us in a parallel way. We are put into this world as a dwelling place for the Holy. We are invited to make a home for God within our hearts.

Just as David’s quest became the overriding task of his life—to create the ultimate building for God’s residence—so our call is no less intense: to do the deep inner soul work needed to grow into greater spaciousness of heart.

PRAY: Loving God, Holy One, come and abide in me.

– Sr. Chris Koellhoffer, IHM
