David Jeremiah Today 5 February 2022 Devotional Message
The essence of the Christian Gospel is that God loves us so much that He provided a means by which we might not suffer the consequences of our sin: eternal death. But the mystery of God’s action is that, while His love alleviated our death, it required the death of Jesus. The death of Jesus—and His ultimate resurrection—led to our eternal life by conquering death. And it all began with God’s love.
All parents have had to explain to their children, at one time or another, that they are disciplining them because they are loved. The discipline is a way to keep the child from traveling a path that could lead to heartache in the future. Children ultimately learn that it was their parents’ love that helped them avoid a life of destruction—possibly even death. God even does that with us: “For whom the Lord loves He chastens” (Hebrews 12:6).
There are many facets to God’s love. Perhaps the greatest of them is that because we are loved, we are saved from death.
None walk so evenly with God, as they who are assured of the love of God.

Salvation Prayer
Have you ever made Jesus the Lord and Savior of your life?
If not, pray this prayer and start a new life in Christ.
Dear God, I come to You in the Name of Jesus. I admit that I am not right with You, and I want to be right with You. I ask You to forgive me of all my sins. The Bible says if I confess with my mouth that “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in my heart that God raised Him from the dead, I will be saved (Rom. 10:9). I believe with my heart and I confess with my mouth that Jesus is the Lord and Savior of my life. Thank You for saving me! In Jesus’ Name I pray. Amen.
