TOPIC: Worship

FOCUS SCRIPTURE: “Saying, Where is he that is born King of the Jews? for we have seen his star in the east, and are come to worship him.” (Matthew 2: 2)

Streams of Joy Devotional 25th December 2022 MESSAGE

When the wise men heard about Jesus, their aim as revealed in our Focal Scripture, was to come to worship Him. They were coming to see a new born king, but these men saw beyond the baby He was and discerned that He was to be worshipped. They understood that the need at that moment, was worship. They positioned themselves for worship as they approached the new born king. As they approached Jesus, their mission was worship.

Friend, as you approach the King, let your heart be positioned for worship. The heartbeat of the Father, is worship. The desire of the Lord from you, is worship. For once, keep aside your desires and requests, and just worship. Keep aside your pedigree and just worship. Keep aside your prayer requests and just worship the Lord. Keep aside your unfulfilled dreams and aspirations and just worship the Lord. Speak the language of worship.

Jesus was in the form of a baby when the wise men came to worship Him. He was not even in a position to do anything for them. So this was not worship that was inspired by what the wise men had received; it was worship that came through the understanding of who He was. If your worship will only arise when God has done great things for you, then you are not yet a worshipper. Worship is not about things; it’s about Him.

Notice that you were not even created for God to take care of you. You were created to give Him pleasure. He created you, not to make you happy, but for you to make Him happy. Commit yourself to worshipping whether or not you feel like it. Your worship is a debt you owe God as long as you live. Your worship is why you are still alive. Your worship is why you have a voice to speak. Let the Lord hear the sound of your worship already.

Remember, the wise men focused on worshipping Jesus. Wise men speak the language of worship. Wise men don’t let their pedigree hinder their worship.

Psalm 29: 2 says: “Give unto the LORD the glory due unto his name; worship the LORD in the beauty of holiness.”

Declare With Me: I choose to worship again and again, in Jesus’ name!

Salvation Prayer

Have you ever made Jesus the Lord and Savior of your life?

If not, pray this prayer and start a new life in Christ.

Dear God, I come to You in the Name of Jesus. I admit that I am not right with You, and I want to be right with You. I ask You to forgive me of all my sins. The Bible says if I confess with my mouth that “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in my heart that God raised Him from the dead, I will be saved (Rom. 10:9). I believe with my heart and I confess with my mouth that Jesus is the Lord and Savior of my life. Thank You for saving me! In Jesus’ Name I pray. Amen.
