TOPIC: Burn for Others
FOCUS SCRIPTURE: “He was a burning and a shining light: and ye were willing for a season to rejoice in his light.” (John 5: 35)
Streams of Joy Devotional 3rd January 2023 MESSAGE
In our Focal Scripture, Jesus made mention of the people who were willing for a season to rejoice in the light of John the Baptist. There was a rejoicing that was to come, and it was tied to the light that John the Baptist was to shine forth. So he was not going to just be a burning and shining light unto himself; he was going to birth the rejoicing of men by his burning and shining. His light was destined and designed to make men rejoice.
Friend, did you know that heaven has been counting on you to be a burning and shining light, so that your generation can rejoice? Did you know that there is a generation that will have no smiles on their faces except you dare to burn and shine? Did you know that the fire of God that should burn in you is tied to the laughter of many? Did you know that if you fail to burn and shine, there will be many whose rejoicing will not manifest?
This year, get set: God will grant you results that will restore the laughter of people connected to you. God will open new doors for you that will position you to be a blessing to more people than you have ever blessed. God is causing you to have opportunities that will make you shine, and make the lives of others shine as well. God is sending you to platforms that will enable you to shine to the extent that your life will bring light to others. This is that year when your shining will not be for yourself alone.

Notice that the light that was to bring rejoicing, according to our Focal Scripture, was also meant to burn. This year, your burning will birth the laughter of many. The fire of God that burns within you will enable others to be free. The prayer fire you carry this year will roll back negativity away from the lives of those connected to you. There are men who will not suffer affliction if only you dare to tune up the fire of God within you.
Don’t be counted amongst them that only shine and burn for themselves. Dare to shine and burn, that the laughter of others may be birthed.
Isaiah 60: 2 says: “For, behold, the darkness shall cover the earth, and gross darkness the people: but the LORD shall arise upon thee, and his glory shall be seen upon thee.”
DECLARATION: In 2023, I choose to burn and shine as that light that will birth the rejoicing of many, in Jesus’ name!
