TOPIC: Live By Faith

BIBLE READING IN ONE YEAR
Genesis 13–15; Matthew 5:1–26

MEMORY VERSE
Romans 1:17 – “For therein is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith: as it is written, The just shall live by faith.”

MOTIVATIONAL QUOTES
To one who has faith, no explanation is necessary. To one without faith, no explanation is possible.

PRAISE AND WORSHIP
Take praise and worship songs as led by the Holy Spirit.

PROPHETIC WORD FOR TODAY
As the LORD lives, this year, your faith shall move mountains and make the impossible possible, in the Name of Jesus.

FIRE SCRIPTURE
Hebrews 11:4-12

4 Cain and Abel both offered sacrifices to God. But Abel offered a better sacrifice to God because he had faith. God said he was pleased with what Abel offered. And so God called him a good man because he had faith. Abel died, but through his faith he is still speaking.

5 Enoch was carried away from this earth, so he never died. The Scriptures tell us that before he was carried off, he was a man who pleased God. Later, no one knew where he was, because God had taken Enoch to be with him. This all happened because he had faith.

6 Without faith no one can please God. Whoever comes to God must believe that he is real and that he rewards those who sincerely try to find him.

7 Noah was warned by God about things that he could not yet see. But he had faith and respect for God, so he built a large boat to save his family. With his faith, Noah showed that the world was wrong. And he became one of those who are made right with God through faith.

8 God called Abraham to travel to another place that he promised to give him. Abraham did not know where that other place was. But he obeyed God and started traveling because he had faith.

9 Abraham lived in the country that God promised to give him. He lived there like a visitor who did not belong. He did this because he had faith. He lived in tents with Isaac and Jacob, who also received the same promise from God.

10 Abraham was waiting for the city that has real foundations. He was waiting for the city that is planned and built by God.

11 Sarah was not able to have children, and Abraham was too old. But he had faith in God, trusting him to do what he promised. And so God made them able to have children.

12 Abraham was so old he was almost dead. But from that one man came as many descendants as there are stars in the sky. So many people came from him that they are like grains of sand on the seashore.

MFM Daily Devotional 5th January 2023 OUTLINE

The Bible mentions affirmatively four different times that the just shall live by faith (Habakkuk 2:4; Romans 1:17; Galatians 3:11 and Hebrews 10:38). When you do not live by faith, you will live by fear. When you do not walk by faith, you will walk by sight.

As a believer, you should not be moved by what you see or hear or feel. Rather, you should be moved by the Word of God. If fear informed your actions last year and pushed you into wrong decisions and troubles, you must turn a new leaf immediately. Move from fear to faith. Fear is a robber. Fear has torments. Fear is counter- productive. Fear will hinder you from possessing your possession and becoming who God has destined you to be.

Faith is the booster and bolster you need. By faith, the elders obtained a good report. By faith, the Israelites crossed the Red Sea and saw their evil assailants sink like lead. By faith, believers took kingdoms and stopped the mouth of lions. Faith is a supernatural force. Use it to win that spiritual battle, conquer the giants and strong men standing in the way of your marital breakthrough, ministerial progress, career and business advancement, health and well-being, financial greatness as well as your all-round fulfilment. Also, use the force and power of faith to pull down the walls of Jericho before you and enter into your Promised Land to possess your possession.

I pray that this year, your faith will not fail but will increase phenomenally and birth great testimonies in your life, in the Name of Jesus.

Faith will help you to discover and fulfil your purpose in life. Your life will attract good things when you believe and expect good things. The focused power of faith will breed abundance in your life. Faith will help you to weather life’s storms and come out stronger the way Job did. By faith, you will pass the tests and surmount the trials of life.

Faith will destroy stress, anxiety and fear for you. It will also overcome worry and discouragement. Those are evil entanglements you do not need in your journey this year. Faith will also act as your pathway to finding solutions.

This year, I encourage you to live by unwavering faith in God and you will become the evidence of His wonders.

Salvation Prayer

Have you ever made Jesus the Lord and Savior of your life?

If not, pray this prayer and start a new life in Christ.

Dear God, I come to You in the Name of Jesus. I admit that I am not right with You, and I want to be right with You. I ask You to forgive me of all my sins. The Bible says if I confess with my mouth that “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in my heart that God raised Him from the dead, I will be saved (Rom. 10:9). I believe with my heart and I confess with my mouth that Jesus is the Lord and Savior of my life. Thank You for saving me! In Jesus’ Name I pray. Amen.
